What is Gut Health?
Gut health can be simply explained as the health condition of the gut area. The Definition of the gut according to Merriam-Webster dictionary. (1)The bowels, part of the alimentary canal and especially the intestines or stomach: belly, abdomen. (2) The basic visceral or emotional part of a person.
The gut area is located in the abdomen and is responsible for digesting and absorbing nutrients that you eat. A healthy gastrointestinal tract is important for good health. Gut health is the core of health both bad and good.
A gut is considered healthy if it is able to digest, process, and absorb necessary nutrients while being able to keep out any unwanted toxins or particles.
A healthy gut health also implies that the good flora or bacteria is flourishing while the bad bacteria and candida or yeast is kept to a minimal. Preferably an 85% / 15% ratio of the two.
